Sony casts Ron Perlman and T.I. Harris in Monster Hunter Movie adaptation!
The movie adaptation of the hit game series Monster Hunter is adding to its cast with the news that Ron Perlman who is know for is Roles in Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy has been added to the cast alongside TI Harris who has been adding to his acting resume as of late. TI who started in the music industry has been acting more and more with his roles in both of Marvel’s Ant-Man movies and this will be another one to add to that growing list.
Both actors join the project alongside Milla Jovovich who starred in the Resident Evil franchise, another movie adaptation of a video game series. Milla’s Husband Paul W.S Anderson who directed 4 of the 6 Resident Evil films will also be directing this new Monster Hunter Film.
Not much is known about the project, but it is expected to begin filming in Cape Town South Africa this month. According to The Hollywood Reporter Ron Perlman’s character is called the Admiral and is the leader of the Hunter’s crew and Harris’ character is a Sniper who is called Link.
It will be interesting to see what direction Anderson takes the project in, and how well he can execute on this plan. The Resident Evil movies were not the greatest, but even still Anderson was able to keep the franchise going through 6 movies. You can bet that if this movie does well at the box office we will be seeing many more coming after that.
If it is successful, this will be one of the first video game movies to do well being adapted into movies. Almost all other attempts have ended with lack luster performance at the box office and critical acclaim being absent. Hopefully Anderson and his growing cast of actors can do what others have not.
